I have 10 books on my reading queue… Oh God! Why my reading speed is so slow… Anyway, I’ve just finished two books – Innovation and 北京的上流太太。
Let me share my thoughts about Innovation in here.
Innovation, written by Tom Gorman, publisher is Adams Business. It is a "tool" book about the innovation – how you develop your idea and launch it into the world!
Introduction: What is Innovation? To innovate means to come up with some new thing, not just a new idea. Ideas are wonderful; I like ideas, and I make my living working with them. However, an innovation is the physical form of the idea – a new product, service, or process that you can use to make money. Many people have an idea but then they fail to develop the idea. Developing an idea means making it bigger, richer, clearer, more detailed, and more useful. It means putting it into a form you can show to other people and, with their help, make something of it and launch it into the work.
It guides you to develop and implement your idea step by step. Once you got a new good idea, evaluate it, design it, develop it, and the most important step, launch it into the world! What you need to consider when you develop your idea and launch it? What will be the best approach? What the common mistakes are to avoid? How to protect your ideas though licensing and partnerships? and so on. It divides into 3 parts – 1) The skill of innovation, 2) Innovation in action and 3) Innovation in specific situations. Beside, it is a pocket size book so I can easily put it in my handbag, less than 200 pages and easy reading.
